The Met is delighted to be part of the New Faces programme at Happy Festival for 2021. Two of our participatory drama groups, Bury Youth Theatre and Met Express will be working with artists commissioned by Happy to create brand new pieces of theatre inspired by the legacy of Victoria Wood.

Bury Youth Theatre

BYT is a friendly and creative group of young people aged 9-15 who meet every week in term time on Wednesdays between 5.30-7pm. They work on learning new drama skills, building their confidence and creating brand new pieces of theatre including an acclaimed original pantomime every year.

If you are interested in being a part of this group, please contact steph.meskellbrocken@themet.org.uk

Met Express

Met Express is Bury’s very own Disability Theatre Company and has been championing and supporting disabled and learning disabled artists and theatre makers for over 20 years. The group is open to anyone over the age of 18 with a disability. The group is so popular that there are now two different sessions to choose from on a Monday and a Tuesday, both at 7-9pm.

Places at this group are strictly limited as leaders need to consider the individual access needs of each participant. So if you are interested in being part of the group, please contact steph.meskellbrocken@themet.org.uk for an initial chat.
