New Faces

We want to encourage emerging new talent from Bury. We want to see the next Victoria Wood, the next Guy Garvey or Danny Boyle. You don’t have to be young, old, middle aged, just to have the desire to hone your talent, try something new or make that dream come true.

Happy’s talent development programme, named New Faces after the ITV show that made Victoria’s name in the 1970s, aims to help you on your way by offering the chance to work with professionals – the best in their field – to write and perform for the Happy Festival in May or the Happy Proms in July. We’ve chosen the genres of work that Victoria’s best known for: comedy, music, songwriting and TV scriptwriting.
